Blushing Red Wine

Oh! How lonely I feel tonight…as the
twilight slowly bleeds out of sight.
All alone again with a glass of juice
from the grapevine, trying to cool my
ancient mind.

Shadows hauntingly dance on my garden wall,
images from long ago come silently to call.
My yesterdays are all gone and at best,
just a few tomorrows, if any at all.

Oh! Where did the time go?
 Why! …It was only yesterday
that we sang; "Le Vie en  Rose"
and danced on cobblestones.

They tell me, that I can't live in the past,
but when you have no future, there's only
one place to go …back, back in time
with a crystal glass of blushing red wine.

One more glass of this blushing red wine and
I shall forget the past, the present, the future
and this silly little rhyme.
