Rainy Day Rewards

This morning as I awake,
And hear the falling rain;
I know it is not a mistake,
The sound starting again.

Like the beating of a drum,
As it is hitting overhead;
Some maybe feeling glum,
But I feel joyous instead.

It makes some people sad,
Just as if the Heavens cry;
If thundering they are mad,
But I am wondering why.

Rain is a grace not a curse,
In helping everything grow;
No doubt nothing is worse,
Than when no waters flow.

God loves this planet earth,
His will has brought anew;
For He knows its real worth,
And inhabitants their value.
