I'm brought rudely wide awake at an hour so absurd
By the over exuberant song of a sun greeting bird
The Silver Fox was set for continuous play
His life battered voice greets me and the day
There's a brandy bottle there on the floor
It doesn't contain any brandy anymore
I know where it went by the pounding of my head
Still fully dressed so I didn't get upstairs to my bed
The clock radio clicks on playing the early morning news
So I greet the world full of post oblivion seeking blues
