viva le sport

world cup football
who gives two hoots
i used to play when
we all wore real boots
you'd get stud rakes
and heaven knows
all types of  bruises
but no broken toes
and if there were injuries
the country didn't cry
they had others lads
to give it a try
some of these players
they say are so good
i expect pretty soon
they'll be put out to stud
they get more in a year
for kicking a ball
than a doctor or nurse
ever earns at all
but then this is species
that values true worth
and don't give a damn
about destroying the earth
if  we can't win the cup
we're pretty good instead
at causing the odd riot
and bashing the odd head
