SWEEP AND TORTIE

~SWEEP AND TORTIE~

The tortie`s name is my Dad`s cred
Call him `The General` is what he said,
He looks like a German helmet
And so his name in stone was set.

Sweep is 10 now he`s getting on
There`s no doubt all our hearts he`s won,
Daft as a brush and twice as mad
If we lost him we would be sad.

These pair get on so very well
But tortie`s the boss you can tell,
I`ve had him the longest you see
23 years he`s been with me.

Sweep lies on the grass in the sun
But the tortie spoils all his fun,
He will climb right over poor Sweep
Sweep jumps up from a peaceful sleep.

These two are a very odd pair
But Sweep for the tortie does care,
Sweep will come and check he is fine
Gives him a lick as a loving sign.
