From the Heart Through the Pen

A New Man

I recently ended a story
And now I'm writing
A totally new book
I've learned so much
In the past couple of years
And now I venture out
With a whole new look
You see I'm going to live life
So much more
So much in this world
I have left to explore
My hearts going to cry less
And the future
I'm going to stop trying to guess
I'm going to take it
One day at a time
I'm going to laugh
I'm still going to love
Choose to be Blessed
Rather than take on the grief
Of being too stressed
My life no longer on hold
My love no longer sheltered
And if God sees fit
I'll share it with all
I'll have a beer
Every now and then
Chill out in my blue chair
Who cares that it's not the weekend
I'll take walks
In this sweet Texas heat
Dear Lord Texas heat is hot
But as long as
I'm not buried six feet deep
I'm going to keep moving
So free I feel
So new I am
Someone pinch me
To see if I'm dreaming
I'm a new man
