(While on my vacation in beautiful Lake Tahoe I met an almost ten year old who taught me a lot about life. We have become very good friends and I am honored that he calls me friend. This is something I wrote for my new friend Tony.)
New Friend
I made a new friend
I am happy to say
He is only ten
Has so much to convey
Don't let his age fool you
He is very smart
From my point of view
He has a caring heart
He does love to talk
But that is not bad
Good head on his shoulder
I wish every child had
A pilot's his dream
That's what he wants to be
I see that happening
With my new friend Tony
Bad words he does hate
He does not like to say
He appreciates life
He appreciates each day
I learned in a short time
The short time that I spent
He will make life special
Tony, my new friend
One thing I want to say
To my newfound friend
Don't give up on your dreams
It's what I recommend
Don't listen to negative
Believe what's in your heart
Be willing to give
That's when the good will start
