JACK AND JILL

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water
Jack fell down and broke his crown
And Jill came tumbling after.

Up Jack got and home did trot
As fast as he could caper
He went to bed to mend his head
With vinegar and brown paper.

When Jill got home she saw his dome
And thought it was a parcel
She put a first-class stamp on top
And posted it off to the castle.

The Queen was very much surprised
To see a parcel walking
But then surprise turned into shock -
The parcel started talking!

"Oh dear, I find I've gone quite blind!"
The parcel was complaining.
The Queen tore all the paper off
Which Jack found entertaining.

"Yippee!Yippee! Now I can see!
The Queen has cured my blindness!
I thank my sovereign majesty
For showing me such kindness!"

The Queen said as she kissed his cheek
"I'm glad you're feeling better.
But next time if you need my help
Why don't you just send me a letter?"
