Life as a River
Life is like as a river flows,
As it gets bigger as it goes;
At birth where starts to seep,
Till reaching the ocean deep.
A trickle at a mountain peak,
Flowing to become a creek;
Bigger and faster it may seem,
Running as it is now a stream.
Though maybe a little small,
Now over a cliff as a waterfall;
More rapid than ever before,
Over the rocks to hear it roar.
No longer just a gentle run,
Now a raging river has begun;
It moves at such a hectic pace,
Virtually as the human rat race.
Nearing the end as it unwinds,
Forking another river as it binds;
Then slowly empties into a sea,
Just as my trek to Heaven to be.
