"A Time For Us"

I awake in the morning and turn to find
her not there. Oh! The pain of reality
and the agony of my loneliness is
more than I can hardly bear.

All my blue skies have turned to gray,
and my yesterdays have faded away.
She’s gone! She’s gone, and somehow
I have to keep trudging on.

I miss her so…her radiant face all aglow.
Her quick smile, and quaint accent,
spoken so sweet and low.

If only I could capture time in a bottle
of wine, or wave a magic wand and turn
back the clock to the days of our love divine.

Her picture on the wall, her clothes hanging in the hall.
Our love song suddenly recalled…
"A Time for Us" now my summers
have all turned to fall.
