 ramblings and things

Guru

He told them the earth was flat
Swore by his solemn pledge
They laughed at his wisdom
Until they fell right off the edge

Now they lie becalmed in limbo
Being neither up nor even down
No wind flaps their sails
No ocean laps around
And floating up above them
They now know far too late
Is good old Mother Earth
Flat as a baking plate
And floating around and by them
Other doubters from ages past
Who went and learned the truth
At the very last
They do not fee the heat
They do not feel the cold
And none of them are young
And none of them are old
And none of them are living
Yet none of them are dead
Just there in that endless limbo
Of boredom and fear and dread

He told them the earth was flat
Swore by his solemn pledge
They laughed at his wisdom
Until they fell right off the edge
