 MIKAYLA SN BETHANIE
I almost forgot all about newborns

And how lovely they carry beauty’s torch

This one resembled a precious little book

I accepted her as a pretty gift from God

She behaved as if she has been here before

It’s a myth that all babies look the same

Some little ones are pink, red and amusing

Others are very cute, sweet and adorable

I suppose one may take it that as a father

I may be biased about this particular neonate

But my years as a realist have made it possible

For me to highly observe with utmost fairness

And it so happens, I have to accept that

Mikayla Bethanie Ssemakula at age thirty three

Minutes and seven seconds was a pretty girl

Joining us at 08:08 prime meridian; mountain time

A humbling experience trailing in pounds of love

And with this cause I have more reason

To believe that all motherly beings should

Believe with all trust in the Lord of Hosts
