Fasting
More to fasting than just food,
More than just stop getting fat;
A way to change your attitude,
And spiritually in your habitat.
Earthly pleasures we enjoy,
Like music or bars or TV;
Even computers you employ,
Or going to watch a movie.
Fast from your anger and hate,
While you are standing in line;
Build up patience as you wait,
Obey each traffic light and sign.
Fast from judging each other,
And just overlook the fault;
Not to question dad or mother,
Or attempt a defensive assault.
Fast from blame and complaint,
Also resentment and bitterness;
You will be considered a saint,
As Your Father will surely bless.
