One Person
It's amazing how things turn out
How one single event
Can change ones life completely
To think one single person
Can be responsible for so many friends
Some say it's a coincidence
But I know it's an act of God
Let me tell you about one girl
Who has become so special
Who has become my daughter
Who's been such a great blessing
Her name is Astrid
My daughter from Germany
Not by blood but by association
She came into our lives
By amazing turn of events
She could have easily been someone else
But circumstances brought her to us
That are amazing in themselves
They are too hard to explain
But I'm so happy they did
Because of Astrid we met Viviane
Another special young lady
She became a special friend
And is still one to this day
She has such a sweet smile
And the cutest of laughs
Her friendship is treasured
Then we got to meet Andreas
Such a funny old chap
He's the typical young man
He's got a great personality
Now we're proud to call son
He has been such a blessing
Whom we thank God above
Florian was next
Boy is he fun to be around
You couldn't meet a nicer guy
He's always been polite
And willing to help out
We have a new friend
He's our friend for life
The family of Astrid
Are more than just friends
They are like our family
They'll be to the end
Edwin is so cool and very respected
While Eva is cute and funny
Oliver is a very considerate young man
What can I say about Michael
Florian's humorous old man
And his poor mom Angelica
Who has to live with him every day
Along with his brother Robbie
Who we are so glad to have met
They are such wonderful friends
Another wonderful family
Who we are so proud to have met
Are Viviane's family
Her sister Valorie is so very cute
While her mother and father
Made us feel so special
We can't wait to see them again
Andreas' family treated us well
They showed us they cared
We thank them so very much
And Astrid's grandmother
What a sweet little lady
I wish I understood German
So I could listen to her
The most surprising of all
Was a stranger I met
Such a beautiful person
With such a beautiful smile
It would never had happened
If I didn't wear my baseball cap
To think I almost didn't wear it
Her name is Sara
She's our brand new friend
She's become very special
I hope this friendship never ends
She seems is so caring
With the kindest of hearts
It's such a blessing to call her a friend
But the most exciting of all
Is a dear little child
She has stolen my heart
With the cutest of smile
She is loved so very much
And she is always in our thoughts
This child's name is Emily
The daughter of Astrid
A true blessing from God
She's the most beautiful child
That has graced this earth
We are so very proud
To be a part of her life
So because of one beautiful girl
Who entered our lives
We now have many special friends
Who have graced our lives
We've experienced so much love
We feel so very blessed
And we thank God above
Astrid my dear, words can't describe
What a true blessing you are
You have brought so much joy
And so much wonderful friends
And this is only the beginning
You are such a blessing from God
