Poetic-Verses from ATHANASE

Dear, Dear Became To Me (English)

   i.m. Vaco Ouchev

'...for I love
flowers, eyes, lips, graves.'

   Lucian Blaga

Since the day
when your humble life,
O my friend,
departed with the dew,
your name became forever dear to me
and now I can't sleep
without tears
flowing!

Dear, dear became to me,
O my friend,
our poor childhood,
the old forest
of Kenana,
your mother's
white dahlias
and our sweet home town
sleeping among
the lilacs!

My translation into English :

DEAR, DEAR BECAME TO ME

 To Vasco Ouchev

" Because I like flowers, eyes, lips and graves "

          Lucian Blaga

Since the day, when your humble life,
O my friend,
Left with the dew,
Dear for ever became to me your name
And I may not fall asleep
Without the tears
Pour my eyes!

Dear, dear became to me,
O my friend,
Our poor childhood,
The old forest
Of Kenana,
The white dahlias
Of your mother
And our sweet home town
Sleeping in the heart of the lilacs!
