Food

He was a stranger in a strange land
From a very different state of norm
A creature of great substance
But of very little certain form
Skipping through dimensions
As befitted any current need
Perhaps a formless moment
Perhaps an intellectual feed
A vampire of emotions
Of misery a connoisseur
Any movement in emotion fields
And very soon he was there
Mental tongue flicking
To sample taste and take
The sort of hyper space variant
On the hunting killer snake
And he was thriving and growing
On this blue planet earth
Feeding on the hatred
Of a very high nutritional worth
All that senseless killing
Which he found rather odd
As most of it was done
In the worship of one god
Different ways of worshipping
This god of different names
But as far as he could see
They were all one and the same
All that high emotion
All those lives gone to waste
All that mental energy
Such an easily acquired taste
He settled down lazily
In a watchful sentient state
Waiting with anticipation for
The next delicious burst of hate
Maybe the ultimate destruction
That huge filling engorging one
Planetary wide annihilation and
Another food source extinct and gone
A sense of frustration
At the need to move on
Then out into the multiverse
To slake his constant need
Another source of emotion
Another source on which to feed
