Mirage...

The copper sun scorches the desert sand,
as it reflects the wavering heat waves,
dancing hypnotically across the never
ending deserted land.

Can you feel the burning heat?
Can you feel the hot sand under your feet?
Burning throat, dry cracked lips…
hot southern wind in your face,
as you breath in short shallow
sips.

Lost in the desert…
Look all around, nothing but hot sand
as fore as your red swollen eyes can
see… just more sand.

But what’s that just a head?
Water! Water everywhere, but
not a drop to drink…

Thirsty! Oh! So thirsty!
It’s just mirage, I think.

Oh! What I’d give for just
one little drink!

Note: I don't know about you!
But I'm going to the kitchen
and get me a big drink!...smile.
