Well That's LifeWe can't go back, We cant stand still, We must continue on, even though the end is so very near. Where did it all go? Oh! For the sunny days of our childhood! Tricycles, bicycles, colorful marbles in a circle in the dirt. Jumping ropes, bright plaid skirts, Dolls and dreams of womanhood. Then the attack of Puberty, changing attitudes and point of views. High School colors, Football games, cheerleader screams. Old rebuilt Fords, Drive-in Theaters, Back seat romances. Swimming holes, Fishing poles, Stolen kisses in Liberty Park. Frankie Laine, Doris Day, Johnnie Ray Then the cannons roared, an off to war we soared, young in spirit and young at heart. Upon our return, a life we had to earn. Day in and day out and more work until we fell out! All that time slipped by and now we wonder why? Was it worth it? Well My Friend, that's Life! Jackie R. Kays © 06 Vote for this poem
