In A RushA quarter of a century is it really true All that time`s went flying by since I gave birth to you I have to smile when I hear you say that you are getting old And must hurry up and live before your story`s told. And yet I understand your longing to succeed At all the things that you have planned, in you there is a need To fill your life up to the brim, achieve each perfect plan I could learn a lot from you as could every man. You can see the wisdom of using every minute God gave you the knowledge to take all that is in it. But my babe remember to stop once in a while To look at what`s around you, sometimes just to smile. See the beauty of this earth, hear the children play And most especially darling girl, have a lovely day. Vote for this poem |
