 What Freedom Means To Me

What Freedom Means To Me

Verse
I can drive where I want to
I can say what I feel
I can do what I love to do
But to some it's no big deal
We take these things for granted
But if we're not careful they'll be lost
We need to count our blessings
And the lives that they cost

Chorus
What freedom means to me
Are the sacrifices made
So we can do the things
That others love to hate
Your actions aren't unnoticed
They've made this country free
To thank you all for what you've done
Is what freedom means to me

Verse
There's a mother with her children
Getting ready for their bed
They get down on their knees
Fold their hands and bow their heads
They thank their Lord Jesus
For the things they did today
And for all those who sacrificed
To have the freedom to pray

Chorus
What freedom means to me
Are the sacrifices made
So we can do the things
That others love to hate
Your actions aren't unnoticed
They've made this country free
To thank you all for what you've done
Is what freedom means to me

Verse
There's a mother saying goodbye
To her 18 year old man
Who's leaving to join his comrades
In a far away land
She tearfully hugs him
Not wanting to let him go
She whispers in his ears
As she wants her son to know

Chorus
What freedom means to me
Are the sacrifices made
So we can do the things
That others love to hate
Your actions aren't unnoticed
They've made this country free
To thank you all for what you've done
Is what freedom means to me

Bridge
I am driving down the street
And I notice our great flag
I stop to say a prayer
For all the sons and the dads
Who are fighting for our freedoms
So that we may be free
It's then that I realize
What freedom means to me
