FOR MY FRIEND JOHN

This is my dedication to a lovely man who likes to be called `Jack The Lad`.  This is for you, I hope you like it, love Bubbles.

~*~FOR MY FRIEND JOHN~*~

Far from these English shores this man was born
But the leaving of Belfast he didn`t mourn,
So in Liverpool down his roots he laid
And it was here that he met his fair maid.

He joined the RAF when war broke out
Some happy memories without a doubt,
He made friendships that only war can build
And said goodbye to friends that were killed.

Jack had children, Michael, Geoffrey and June,
But their childhood years passed all too soon,
All grown up they soon left and spread their wings
But much joy to him their visit brings.

He`s an animal lover is Jack the lad
And cruelty to animals makes him mad,
He tries to help so he adopted Toby
He lives in Manchester and he`s a donkey.

He had a rescue dog that was called Scamp
He was only small but he was a CHAMP,
He often talks about his little friend
Dying left a hole that only time can mend.

Turning 80 he found that he was bored
So bought a computer he could afford,
He surfs the net with the greatest of ease
But often comes across a lot of sleaze.

His birthday`s approaching ever so fast
Fond memories come flooding from the past,
Here`s to the future so let`s wish him well
84 Jack, but you never would tell.
