Fever

He whirled around in agony
Dashed a galaxy from its place
Screamed a toothless silence
In cold eternity of space
He built a toasting fire from
One hundred million stars
Roared of death and destruction
Through many dimensioned wars
He played a game of billiards
With a planet for each ball
Screamed in frustration
At the futility of it all
Heard the planets roll
Through creation's hiss
To create the perfect cannon
As the three balls kissed
He burned in his fever
In his sweat soaked bed
Screamed in delirium
At the pain rampant in his head
And then the crisis passed
The vital point reached
And he felt soothing clouds
As the wall of death was breached
Her felt cool breath on his cheek
A loving hand caress his brow
He knew he had survived
And suddenly knew the how
He grasped her hand
Pulled it to his cheek
Fell into a healing doze
The first of that long week
