"Sitting On The Dock"
One foggy day
While strolling on the pier
The sound of distant fog horns
Was all you could hear
I sat upon that old dock
Engulfed in the fog
When out of nowhere
Come a sweet little dog
Right behind him
With flaming red hair
A woman so beautiful
I couldn't help but stare
She sat down beside me
We soon began to talk
How happy I was
I had picked that rickety old dock
She asked me questions
About my life
Was I married
Did I have a wife
It started to get dark
She had to leave
Said every thing is possible
If only we believe
I slowly walked home
Feeling terribly low
Knowing she liked me
Yet I let her go
Was only a few weeks later
While taking a walk
I sat in the same place
On that old familiar dock
I was there for an hour
Sitting in the fog
When I heard a whimpering
It was the same sweet dog
Many years have gone by
Since we strolled on that dock
Reminiscing about that night
And our very first talk.
