 ramblings and things

White Fog

White fog
Tendrils creep
Across the land
Rise and curtain
So that eyes strain
For first sight
After picking up footsteps
Seemingly dogging one's own
Pace for pace
Stride for stride
The echo distance
Constantly
Lessens
Until
As the heartbeat quickens
That menacing shape
Looms
Takes shape
And as recognition dawns
The friendly voice
Speaks
As the form
Suddenly solid
Passes on
And is gone
Swallowed up
And the senses slow
But ever alert
For the next
Encounter
Until
The world assumes normalcy
As the sun burns off
And dissipates
White fog
