Prayer in a car park

Thank you Lord for the female of the species,
True delight of most man's life.
I am certain I would be long gone dead now
Without the devotion of my wife,
And dear Lord I don't mean to complain or carp;
That certainly isn't my intention
But maybe a just few humble little thoughts to help
To perfect your best invention.
It isn't really that very much is needed Lord
To bring them to perfection,
But Lord if only you could maybe kindly add
A basic sense of direction;
And maybe, and Lord it's just a suggestion,
An awareness of being late;
For, Lord although I love her, how I love her
As I sit and fume and wait
Along with all the other men there sighing
My Anger rises all the while.
I admit it is true Lord she calms it on arrival
With just her loving caring smile.
Oh Lord I have to go now,
Please do forgive me
But I see her approaching
And she'll need a cup of tea.
And then she'll show me all her bargains.
All she's bought for the house,
And I'll smile and curb my temper because
I'll feel such an ungrateful louse.
Thank you Lord for the female of the species
True delight of most man's life;
I am certain I would be long gone dead now
Without the devotion of my wife.
