Why Did You Have To Drink And Drive
Why Did You Have To Drink And Drive

He kneels before his son's grave
Reliving all of the years
All the laughs that he gave
His eyes well up with tears

He left this world so young
His dreams were so alive
(But) they ended that fateful night
When you chose to drink and drive

Why did you have to drink and drive?
Because you did my loved one has died
All I do is sit and cry
Why'd you have to drink and drive?
My loved one would still be alive

She was the star of her drill team
Had a smile that wouldn't quit
She could make anyone laugh
Her charm you couldn't resist

She left this world too early
Taking my heart with her
Now all I have are the memories
As I hold her favorite picture

Why did you have to drink and drive?
Because you did my baby has died
All I do is sit and cry
Why'd you have to drink and drive?
My baby would still be alive

Graduation and he was excited
He partied most of the night
He didn't think for a moment
About having someone else drive

Driving down the highway
His vision became blurred
His speed was way too fast
He couldn't make it around the curve

Why did you have to drink and drive?
Because you did my loved one has died
All I do is sit and cry
Why'd you have to drink and drive?
If not you'd still be alive
