Tandem II

They were very nice at the hospital
Set my arm and bandaged my head
Gave me some pills to slowly suck
A little lie down in an empty bed
Their psychiatrist was very nice
Passing by so he just called in
At least that's what he told me
I thought that line a little thin
My name was on his little list
In capital bold type face so
It really couldn't be missed
He asked some silly questions
Made a note or two
Then wandered off muttering
The way those chappies do
I daren't tell him I was trying
Balancing on my tandem
While practicing an act
That was in no way random
I didn't tell them
What I'd tried
To be honest
I just lied
But I'll keep on trying
Honestly I will
I suppose that it's possible
Balanced and standing still
But I disagree dear Plethora Rosie
Though the thought I do like
You can't make love on a moving tandem
It's just an awkward sized sort of bike
