 ramblings and things

Bitter sweet

She was so very special
But he never called her his own
Just knew their time together
Was an indeterminate period loan

He called her his darling
His special piece of baggage
She called him her satyr
Her piece of excess luggage
And they made love every morning
And they made love every night
With care and consideration
To ensure both got it right
And they talked together of Paris
And they talked together of Rome
They talked of the whole wide world
But they never talked of home
Two middle aged people
No longer girl or boy
Being together when both wanted
Just for the passion and the joy
And then she met another
Wanted to be a wife
So he just shrugged his shoulders
And he got on with his life
They said goodbye one evening
With a brief but warm embrace
And he wished her every happiness
With the one who'd filled his place

She was so very special
But he never called her his own
Just knew their time together
Was an indeterminate period loan
