A Plea for Strength
Show me that I am right O God,
Even in knowing I am flawed;
Defend me against all my foes,
While removing all my woes.
Rescue me from those in deceit,
Their fraudulence is in defeat;
Everything they say is a lie,
No truth in it when they deny.
For I go to my Lord to protect,
Against Satan and all his effect;
My weaknesses in order to lure,
In temptations trying to detour.
Please do not allow me to stray,
I never want to turn You away;
Without You O God I am sad,
But abiding in me makes me glad.
Send Your light of truth to guide,
To shine through the darkness inside;
I put all of my trust within You,
Praise and worshiping each day through.
