A FLOWER`S DAY

A FLOWER`S DAY

Ah! Another sunny day
Once again I may
Lift my face towards the sky
I let out a happy sigh.

I open my petals
As the sun settles
To shine upon me
Now I`m full of glee.

My scent I do release
And rest in the peace
Of my flower bed
Among those who are dead.

Look what`s landed on me
My friend the bumble bee
Take my nectar please do
It`s meant just for you.

Here she comes with her spade
To take the flowers who fade
But I`m okay, I`m fine
My open petals are the sign.

Here comes a sun shower
It waters every flower
My petals catch each rain drop
But no doubt it will soon stop.

Look at the colours so bright
The rainbow`s a pretty sight
As the sun shines, it fades
No pot of gold in the glades.

The sun is fading now
And so my head I bow
I will see you tomorrow
Just when the cock`s crow.
