Ode to Poe

Poe be his name, doom and
despair be his game.

He speaks of many things,
and tells of a time when he wore a golden ring.

A love of yesteryear, ebony black was her hair.
Skin so soft and creamy, so sweet and fair.
Eyes brilliant as blue diamonds and a heart of pure gold.

Tears of pain and regret befalls him when
he speaks her lovely name…"Virginia."

The Angels came one dark dreary night
and took his Virginia forever from his life.
He still mourns and cries for his sweet young wife.

"Oh! Virginia my love!
Why?… Oh! Why?"

Ah! Poe…
A question only God can answer…
as you well know.
