Reality Check
I thought i saw a shooting star,
So i made a wish.
I wished for what i want in life,
I wished for more than this.
I closed my eye's and began "star light",
Upon that golden star that shone so bright.
Please take my wish across the sky,
To that fantasy world on the other side.
Hear my cries and feel my pain,
For what has happened in my life i want to start again.
So please allow me a second chance at life,
To start all over and put things right.
No-one is perfect and this i know,
But what i want is another go.
The say a leopard can't change it's spots,
But it becomes so hard when a repitation you've got.
People always expect the worst,
It makes me so angry that i feel i might burst.
When i try to do good it never works,
For the wrongs i have done myself i have cursed.
So this is what i am asking,
To go back to day one.
To re-write and also change,
All these wrongs I've done.
So if prays are answered,
And wishes do come true.
Please don't forget my heart-filled wish,
To show what i can do.
So as i opened up my eye's,
The world looked strange and new.
My heart was filled with love not hate,
My eye's had tears few.
But my heart sunk when i realized,
I could never start again.
But came back up when i thought about,
Being no-where near the end.
I now know if i want to change my life,
Its entirely up to me.
I can't rely on hope's and dreams,
To be what i want to be.
I know the star didn't give me my wish,
But it tought me a thing or two.
In just three minutes whilst my eye's where shut,
To mind a thought just flew.
And i realized what i had to do,
That was to stop dreaming, hoping and wishing,
And start becoming someone new.
