It was then I realized how long I had been away,
All the time tried to write but drunk night and day.
Suddenly needed a drink far more than ever had before,
Grabbed a glass poured the booze smashed it on the floor.
It was then awoke sober realized I was dreaming all the time,
I awoke the drunk next to me and borrowed his last dime.
Leaving now, on the next Greyhound bus, never drink again,
For when you mix your drinks without love the bottle only wins.
