Butterflies
Butterflies are carefree,
Indeed they are.
Two are fluttering about the flowers,
Chasing each other everywhere.
I wonder if they hear that bird singing,
For they seem to flow with the rhythm.
Darting here and there,
Dipping at precise moments.
Do you suppose the bird,
And the butterflies know each other?
Is it likely they planned and practiced,
This lovely performance that I am privy to?
They seem so carefree and happy,
As they flutter about.
Chasing each other all around,
Then across the pasture and out of sight.
