From the Heart Through the Pen

yosph
Golden Years

I'm laying here gazing at stars twinkling in your eyes
You've got that sleepy look on your face
In my heart I pray you're exactly who I know you are
I can't get enough of your beauty
Every definition of the word to you it applies
We're on pace to set a new record
That will no doubt go down in history
I remember when I first met you
I was asking if you were just being flirtatious
Or if these feelings were truly contagious
Was there really a connection between you and I
Were you the reason for the sparkle in my eyes
As I watch you drift off into slumber
I remember in my heart when I finally got my answer
I kiss you gently on the forehead
And finally I'm settling next to you in bed
Reminiscing of the joy I saw in your eyes
Tomorrow will make 50 golden years together
That we will greet the sunrise
