What goes on in the mind of an abuser
What makes them think it is right
To me they are all nothing but losers
Whose urges are too hard to fight
Don't they think of the people they are hurting
And the lifetime of misery
What must we do to stop this from happening
It keeps growing like a weed
The victims of such a heinous crime
Have to live with this the rest of their lives
Some victims can never find peace of mind
And end up committing suicide
To violate another person's innocence
Is such an inexcusable act
To me it is one of the greatest of sins
Because innocence can never be taken back
To some it is performed by people they trust
A trust that is lost forever
A solution to this problem is a must
We must combine forces and do it together
Our children need to have a safe future
Where they are not faced with such abuse
They need to feel loved, safe and secure
If nothing is done then our children will lose
Society has changed in the last forty years
Where morals and ethics are gone
So many children grow up with too many fears
Where has our society gone wrong
There's no easy solution; it's an uphill climb
It seems to be an impossible task
But if we work together, a solution we'll find
We must all learn from our past
