Men and War

I shall write such words of men and war
Though many times have been said before.
What so many have tried too say…?
Seems always forgot along the way.
We talk of love but live with hate.
We wish for freedom behind a gate.
We pray for forgiveness for all we've done,
Then live in hope each rising sun.
Bombs are dropped all ages killed.
Machine gun fire… their fate is sealed.
Fire and torture and limbs lying still,
Remember the head count… for the evening meal.
No longer we think of this world as one place,
It's split into cultures, money and race.
Instead of the beauty valleys so green.
Of land mass and oceans such beauty to see.
We go for the money and all that it holds
The minority to be warm, the rest to be cold.
So words shall be written about men and war
Until there is silence and man is no more.
