Trees

If there is a heaven
It must be full of trees
Those elegant beings
Majestically at ease
Conducting the wind
With their branch's sway
The rustle of their leaves
Part of the music's play

Oh there must be trees
Those beings of delight
That sang me a lullaby
Many a dark night
Easing the torment
Or so to me it seemed
From those dark horrors
That I often dreamed

There just has to be trees
To breathe for those lands
Acres after acre after acres
In copses wood and stands
Patiently planting
Rooted feet in this earth
Calm and reassuring
Signs of growth and rebirth

And there just has to be trees
In any place of after life
Reinforcing the peace
And absence of strife
Oh let there be trees
That very freely grow
Any heaven with out
Is not a place I want to go
