Guarding Yourself
We have a sense of pride,
In just how we do abide;
Knowing it pleases the Lord,
As we adhere to the Word.
It is up to us to obey,
Through each and every day;
And in knowing what is right,
That is pleasing in God's sight.
We are having quite a chore,
Being enticed by each lure;
Tempting us from every end,
Acting as it was our friend.
When lazy or take a nap,
We fall right into its trap;
Because Satan loves to wait,
Having an unguarded gate.
Whenever you may feel weak,
It is the Lord you should seek;
Both within Word and in prayer,
On troubles you need to share.
