Remember... Dad, On Father's Day

Dad, with laughter, tears and many mistakes we shared
you'll always be in our hearts, because... we do care.
Dad, remember... just the two of us, going fishing in a brook
and me, putting a squirmy worm on my hook.
Dad, remember... camping and hiking, slipping on cow patties,
and sleeping in a lean-to, under the open skies.
Dad, remember... scuba-diving, in the oceans so blue
and jumping the waves... as tall as you.
Dad, remember... building a tree house, so big and high
it was... as if we could reach the sky.
Dad, remember... the fun we had... when we walked in the park
or sometimes... roller-skate until dark.
Dad, remember... the dance lessons, before the prom
and my first date... whose name was Tom.
Dad, I'll never forget... the monster under my bed
when you said... “ It's not a monster, but...
a dust bunny instead!”
For all you dads everywhere... we thank you for loving us,
and the memories good or bad. Thanks for teaching us right from wrong,
and trying to show us the best way to live our lives.
Just remember to love us
because... LOVE, will always be returned!
