 Elsie`s Poetry

I CARE

I CARE

Take a break and rest a while,
It`s no good being in denial,
Your aches and pains won`t go away,
Do something about them today.

I will nurse you through your pain,
Nothing to do with selfish gain,
I do it because I care for you,
I hate to know you`re feeling blue.

I`ll rest your head upon my lap,
Your heavy eyes can have a nap,
I`ll soothe your brow with caring fingers,
Hoping my gentle touch is all that lingers.

Sleep peacefully my love, please do,
For I`m here to take care of you,
Float away to painless dreams,
Where birds sing and the sun beams.

I look down upon your sleeping face,
The outline of your mouth my finger will trace,
I faintly saw a smile appear,
While I am holding you so near.

Your eyes flicker and look at me,
The pain has gone – that I can see,
You pucker your lips for me to kiss,
I bow my head in heavenly bliss.
