Nothing that is new

Too all my long lost comrades…
You are here with me this day.
I miss you still after all these years,
Remembering the price you paid.
I remember all the times we laughed
How often we had cried.
When another one fell it always felt…
Another piece of us had died.
I remember also how friendship grew,
Then died for countries gain.
Pictures of families we'd love to share,
As fire fell down… like rain.
We often laughed our time would come…
For some it came too soon.
Wives and children and the whole wide world
Everything was doomed.
Yet still all lessons seem learnt in vain…
Just remembering more like you.
Fighting all these wars for greed
Will bring nothing that is new.
