A Child Deep In My Heart
A Child Deep In My Heart
My children are grown up
To them I'm so uncool
They think that I am crazy
They call me an old fool
I act just like a child
At least that's what they think
Whenever I act wild
They say I'm so extinct
My wife she's not much better
She says, “Please act your age”
And if you do not mind me
I'll lock you in your cage”
I'm getting so depressed
My life is getting hard
They just don't understand
I'm a child deep in my heart
My children they make fun
They call me many names
They won't participate
In my many games
They will see one day
And then they will agree
They'll wish they had my energy
They'll want to be like me
So when they're old and gray
And walking is too hard
I'll look at them and say
Should have stayed a child deep in your heart
