Ethereal Moments The Poetry of Donavon Scott Vinson
My Stonewall
When the demons of disappointment and strife
attempt to crash the pearly gates of my heart,
You are the mighty stonewall that denies them access.
When disillusionment and despair tries to steal
my peace of mind,
You are the screaming alarm that
drives it far away.
When the rash of insecurity attempts to irritate my soul,
You are the soothing aloe that comforts me.
When trouble tries to invade my life,
You are the fortress that thwarts the invasion.
When all else fails to work out,
You are the wonderful solution that repairs
all that is wrong with me.
And when all is said and done, and I go to my grave
You shall be the one who gives me eternal life.
