A Patient Faith
While standing guard at the gate,
Ever vigilant as I wait;
Not just for an intruding foe,
But also for my Lord to show.
I wait for Him to answer me,
For His return so I can see;
And be able to see His face,
Within the presence of His grace.
My vigilant watch I will keep,
Not closing my eyes for to sleep;
I do not want to miss my chance,
In order for to get a glance.
But since my faith is very strong,
I have much patience to prolong;
For I know His Word will come true,
In returning to start anew.
So I look up into the sky,
If the cloud catches my eye;
Jesus returning to retain,
On His rightful throne for to reign.
