A Caged Bird

Like a caged bird
I cried but no one heard
Can't take this pain
It makes me insane

Here to help another
Don't want to smother
Longing to fly away
Yet decided to stay

Perhaps for sure
I can take more
This shall past
Why does it last

Like a caged bird
I want to be heard
I should yell loud
But I'm too proud

I'm in a bind
Trying to find
An escape can't relate
Can no longer tolerate

I'm in a cage
Feeling much rage
Wanting to get out
I did shout

Still no one heard
I'm a caged bird
One fine day
I'll silently fly away
