The new born

I sit here naked as If I were new born,
but my years are many and my body is now old and weary.
I have travelled far… seen much, been pleased and displeased
with all that my eyes and mind have witnessed.
I have learnt of many things and many people and found pleasure
in so many of these things, people and places…
But as I sit here naked as though I were new born, I feel guilty.
I am of man are man and I am guilty as only man can be.
I have stood by and watched my planet burn with the anger
Of men that would choose war over peace, and lies over truth.
I have kept silent when my brothers and sisters marched into war,
valiant but so very far from the land of their birth and the truth that
every one of their brave souls deserves.
I have listened to the intellectual argument of stupidity as to why we
must keep destroying our planet and all that we may ever be, and now for me,
it is to late.
So I speak to you the new born.
The young and the bright that still think not of war, but of life and all
that life may bring… not take away.
Those of you that are strong of mind and spirit and will fight not for what
they believe but live for what they know is right and truthful.
We are man, we are greater than war and hardship and must not fall from
grace or we all may never know of the truth…
Or our new born.
