 Rainy Day Blues

On this dreary rainy day
Don't feel like going out to play
Loud, booming great jazz playing
Right here inside I'm staying

Every single note and tune clear as a bell
So many thoughts in my head, can't tell
Distinct, precise sounds from that piano
Wish I knew, but I don't know

Smells of breakfast cooking in the kitchen
Sweet music all I have to do is listen
He is a very good chef, he can cook
Doesn't need a recipe book

Takes him very little time
Won't cost me a dime
He announces your breakfast is ready
Great, now I'm ready and steady

Happy to be served, it's a big deal
After eating a well prepared meal
Getting out of this cluttered muddle
Going out to splash in some puddles
