Poetic-Verses from ATHANASE
Khosrow Anushirvan (English)
"My fingers are springs of water to cool your face."
Athanase Vantchev de Thracy
You live in the pupils of my eyes, in my nocturnal voice,
In the azure palaces of King Anushirvan,
You, my Prince, bowed over the ruins of time,
The vanished image of a speechless shadow.
Outside, in the pools, the land of water-lilies,
My Zoroastrian soul writes your story.
Translated from the French of Athanase Vantchev de Thracy by Peter Hill
