I'm Normally Not This Forward (Lyric)

I saw her across the street
With no shoes on her feet
Her sad and lonely face
Seemed so out of place
A voice inside my head
Said she needed to be fed
I went on up to greet her
That's when I said these words

I'm normally not his forward
So excuse me if I say
But would you like to join me
As I kneel down and pray
She put her hand in mine
And stood right by my side
She gave her heart to Jesus
That's when this poor girl cried

She asked that He'd forgive her
She knew he was her cure
She told Him she was sorry
Her eyes they finally see
The life that she was living
His sadness it did bring
Her life is now worth living
She lives for Christ her king

I'm normally not this forward
But Christ He had His plan
I knew I had to talk to her
I was His handy man
I do the things He tells me
Some think it sounds absurd
I want to spread His message
And share His precious Word

Playing with my kids today
I saw a little runaway
He was wearing worn out clothes
Puffy eyes and runny knows
A voice inside my head
Said he needed to be fed
I went up to greet him
He said his name was Jim

I'm normally not his forward
So excuse me if I say
But would you like to join me
As I kneel down and pray
He put his hand in mine
And stood right by my side
He gave his heart to Jesus
That's when this poor boy cried

He asked that He'd forgive him
He felt so scared within
He told Him he was sorry
His eyes they finally see
The life that he was living
The sadness it did bring
He's now become more giving
He lives for Christ his king

I'm normally not this forward
But Christ He had His plan
I knew I had to talk to him
I was His handy man
I do the things He tells me
Some think it sounds absurd
I want to spread His message
And share His precious Word
